forms in pewter tree

Andersen Design vases, bowls , mugs, teapots, platters, and trays are crafted by hand. The process begins with mixing a clay slip from raw materials. The liquid clay is poured into plaster molds of our original designs. When the slip has solidified around the edges of the mold, to the desired thickness, the slip is poured out and the pieces are set to dry. The dry forms are fettled, glazed and/or decorated by hand. The resulting forms have subtle varigations lending a unique quality to each individulal form . Our flux glazes create not quite predictable effects, characterizing the beauty of a hand made object.

Andersen Design stoneware continues to be produced on the coast of Maine, USA.

Each form can be finished off in a number of ways,. We have many standard available patterns such as the Brown Tree and the Pewter Tree pattern. (We do not currently have all of our patterns represented on our website but we are working on it.)

Standard available glazes are White , Ebony, Bronze, Celadon, Pewter, and Mulberry and Golden Lime

One of a kind decorated pieces are also available. Please feel free to ask us what is available that is not shown.
